Agrabinta

This page contains links to news articles, government statements and other documents concerning the unnamed asylum seeker vessel that foundered very close to the coast of Java near Agrabinta on 27 September 2013 with the loss of 50 or more lives. It was the first asylum seeker sinking tragedy since the introduction of Operation Sovereign Borders on 18 September. ( The AMSA file reference number for this event is SAR 2013/6452 but for the sake of convenience it will be referred to here as 'Agrabinta' ).
